Massimiliano Pistucci was born in Naples  in 1975. He was graduated in Environmental Engineering in 2002 presenting a work about seismic risk assessment and mitigation in large urban settlements. Actually, he is Ph.D. student in “Engineering for Civil Networks and Territorial Systems” at the Faculty of Engineering of Naples University, Department of Urban And Regional Planning (DiPiST). Topic of his doctoral dissertation is the assessment of technological risk mitigation in natural hazard prone areas aimed at supporting the setting up of land use planning na-tech risk mitigation strategies. In  2006, he had a research period in Japan at the Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI) of the Kyoto University, with prof. Norio Okada and prof. Ana Maria Cruz from the Joint Research Center of European Community. There he could deepen na-tech risk features and issues about integrated disaster risk management. He has been involved in the research project “La salvaguardia di valori storici, culturali e paesistici nelle zone sismiche italiane” (“The protection of landscape, cultural and historical value in Italian seismic zones”) funded by the Research and University Italian Minister. Actually he is part of the DiPiST research unit involved in the European Community funded Research Project STREP (2004-2006) - PQ6 “Applied Multirisk mapping of Natural Hazards for Impact Assessment” (ARMONIA) about multi-risk assessment.
